PRESS RELEASE -
ancaster, July 2005:
The presentation of cheques for $5,000.00 to the three local winners of the
random draws in the Espar/NRCan rebate bonus incentive program took place
July 2005
This program ran for the period of one year and was
open to all customers across Canada who purchased the Espar brand of heater
system. All winners participated in this draw, first by purchasing an Espar
Heating System, and secondly by choosing to have their hours downloaded free
of charge by their local dealer Simplicity Air Ltd.
The winners include:
Neil & Jay Fair of Fairway Transport, Ancaster, ON
Mark Hewings of Hewings Transportation Inc., Brantford, ON
Fred Mattice of LF Mattice Trucking, Hagersville, ON
Having outfitted their fleet of transports with Espar
Independent Vehicle Heating & Cooling Systems to eliminate costly and
pollution causing off-road idling has proven to be a good investment for
three Southern Ontario firms.
As well it has been a winning venture for the supplier
of the units, Simplicity Air Ltd. of Ancaster operated by owners Brian &
Carolyn Bassindale who were instrumental in working both with Espar Heater
Systems and Natural Resource Canada in securing valuable information for the
Natural Resource Fleetsmart Rebate program. Because of their efforts to
create awareness with the anti-idling technologies and because they chose to
work with their customers free of charge Simplicity Air Ltd. was also chosen
in a random draw of dealers that participated in this program. Their
participation and commitment to work within the parameters of the outlined
program clearly made a difference.
As outlined in the Espar literature, leaving a
transport (or for that matter, any motor vehicle) idling for prolonged
periods to maintain cab heating and/or cooling for driver comfort while
waiting in line-ups to load and/or unload and during rest periods, can prove
to be very costly. Statistics show that not only does prolonged idling eat
up costly fuel, it also harms engines to the extent that rebuilds are a
premature requirement; the efficiency of lubricating oil is greatly reduced,
and idling, or course, contributes to needless air pollution.
The Federal Government’s allocation of a 1.6 billion
rebate program (up to $350.00 per unit) for installation of idle reduction
devices on heavy trucks and buses has enabled the local Espar dealer
Simplicity Air Ltd. to successfully encourage fleet operators to invest in
the new “win/win” technology. Actually, with Simplicity Air Ltd. and three
of their customers having been drawn in the Espar promotion, perhaps the
term could be “Win, Win, Win” for not only have these enterprises each won a
$5,000.00 prize, the environment will be an ongoing winner too!
Congratulations to Mark Hewings, Neil & Jay Fair, Fred
Mattice and Brian & Carolyn Bassindale on having good fortune in this draw;
and kudos to all who have been installing this new technology on their heavy
equipment units.
